So I am pleased to report that our NOC did indeed get issued on Memorial Day and it was even uploaded to the CARINGS site by Wednesday. Our caseworker emailed us a copy. I feel such a sense of relief to have this document. Now we have the approval of CARA (they did apologize for the confusion...seems half of our documents were on one person's desk and the other half with another group). Most importantly we can take guardianship of Anjali. It feels like life is getting back in control. So what's next? Well, now SARA is supposed to register our case for court. Once that happens we will learn when our first court date is. We have been told that both Adam and I will need to attend court. We are also waiting to find out if we can get permission to take Anjali out of state. If we get our court date soon enough and it's not too far off, Adam and I will travel together to attend court and take guardianship. I am giving it until June 15th. If we haven't heard anything about a court date by then, I will go ahead and make plans to take guardianship of Anjali and travel to India with my parents. We will either get a place in Patna or travel to where family is if we are allowed.
It is now time to start to getting Anjali's room ready. We gave away all of the furniture that was there. Adam found a globe for her that actually has Patna on it. He is meticulously working on restoring the windows in her room. I found some cute furniture that I hope to get soon. Summer is here and hope is in the air. Coming to get you soon baby girl!
